Kimberly Stroman is dedicated to providing today’s professional woman with the information and tools necessary to enhance her career, style and life. As the Publisher for Pocketbook, an online publication for women, Kimberly uses her passion to provide readers with relevant information and resources to make the most of their time.
After graduating from the University of North Florida with a B.A. in Communications, Kimberly worked for a major University Foundation. From there Kimberly returned to school full-time to pursue her M.A. with a certificate in Political Campaigning from the University of Florida. On the campaign trail Kimberly used her background in communications and fundraising to lead fundraising efforts and to write speeches, website content & direct mail copy.
During her travels on the campaign trail, Kimberly observed a number of print and online publications for women, but very few spoke to the needs of the busy professional woman. Recognizing the need for something more, in 2011 she started Pocketbook Publishing, a media company focused solely on delivering relevant information and resources to professional women.
Pocketbook Magazine, the first product from Pocketbook Publishing, was introduced to the Gainesville/Alachua County area in 2011. In January 2012, the print publication made the transition to PocketbookMagazine.com to better serve its readers. PocketbookTV was also launched in 2012 to continue to the mission of Pocketbook. The two media platforms have made it more convenient for readers to get the latest information on the resources they need wherever they are.
“As a professional woman I understand how hard it is to balance relationships, a career, family . . . life in general. You want to be the best in every area, but you don’t have the time nor energy to seek out the information to help you do that. I started Pocketbook to be that resource for us. It is a one stop shop to help you find the information you need to be your best self.” – Kimberly Stroman
